Video games are a very big past time for the younger generation as most have come to find out. Though the problem now is that many in the older generations seem to only see it as a waste of time. This could very well be true, but think of some of the things that they spent time doing, sitting in mud playing or making mud pies or even sitting in front of their black and white tv. the fact is that every generation has something that the past generation will find a waste. Sitting where I am I can see how somethings can be considered a waste of time but the problem is that neither generation seem willing to give the other's idea a try. I myself play games on my Xbox 360, computer, and own a collection of Playstation 2 games. My dad plays several games mostly on the Nintendo and Playstation, but refuses to try some of the games I play because they are too complicated. This would be a fine excuse if I hadn't tried one of his games, just to sit back and scratch my head and hand him the controller asking for help. My wife also enjoys playing game, with ou 360 we got a Kinect which she uses all the time with either Dance Central 2, Kinect Games 1 or 2, and Fruit Ninja. She also plays controller based games like Bayonetta, WET, Assassin's Creed, and Call of Duty (CoD). There are many games out there that are made specifically for a certain age group. I understand this may make it hard for other generations to accept because the only games that get any airtime (commercials) are those high profile designed specificly for teenage boys. This also leads to younger kids getting games they probably shouldn't have. I don't know how many times I have walked into my local GameStop store and seen a little boy about 10 years old getting a CoD game because he has whined and cried at his parents, normally this woulndn't be a big deal if that game wasn't rated M for mature (17+ years old). This is what I call for Gamer Unification. Less supporting of young kids playing games they shouldn't and a more general acceptance of the gaming community as a whole. There are plenty of unknown games out there for loads of people to play, some are very simple some that are very complicated. A great game type to try for those just starting out is an RPG (Role Playing Games). these games allow you to jump into the role of a protagonist and do what you can to help save the world or royalty or who knows what. These games take patience, strategy, and perseverance. and they are also easy for just about any person no matter what the age to play. So give games a try, be watchful of what those around you are buying, don't support underage gaming, and dont be too quick to judge just because something seems foriegn. Thanks for taking the time to read this and I hope to see you helping the cause of Gamer Unification
